    Julia and I loved attending the beginner’s yoga class on M/W but the time is a bit late for us. Is there any chance that you would be able to move it to an earlier time? There doesn’t seem to be anything listed on the calendar for December, 2011 in the earlier spot, is that feasible. I remember one of the other lady’s mention the same thing that earlier would be better. The -40 kept us away for awhile. What are the chances?

    We just switched our calendar so each of the instructors could have input and it seems that Internet Explorer definitely doesn’t like it and Safari sometimes has trouble with the shared mode. Working on it. If you have Firefox as a browser, it definitely works with that. Thanks for looking. I did post some things coming up under What’s Happening just today so you can go there for some things. Generally we have classes every day at 5:30 and MTWTh at 7:00. MWF at noon.

    Hi Kathleen, Sorry you got caught in the middle of the changes we advertised in our newsletter that went out a couple of days ago and posted in our calendar. Donna also posts the classes for the day each day on Facebook nearly every day. Kara (5:30 Th) had to reschedule and Kate slipped to the 5:30 slot. So this was the week of change. Kate will be in that slot except when she takes off for Spring Break. The teachers that have stepped up to sub for her are listed on the March calendar online. We did our best at notification in writing, not much we can do about the teachers forgetting to make the announcements at the classes. Just as a heads up, next Thursday all classes are cancelled for Girish. . .unless enough people can convince Kate to do her hot yoga. As far as a refund goes, we could refund what you have left on the card you bought from us. You will have to take the 101 card up with them since we do not collect money for them. We simply honor the cards people buy from them. Hopefully you will want to visit Kate Saturday and/or Sunday at noon. She does lunch classes too and they are also listed on the calendar. Let us know what we can do for you. We really do try to make each experience a good one.

      We do currently have two instructors who give privates and semi-privates. Donna Lanni does a flow base practice and Marsha Munsell does a more alignment based practice.       We have some mats, plenty of blocks, straps and blankets until you see what will work for you personally. So come on in and you can get your own equipment when you have a better feel for what you may want. See you soon. Marsha

      Studio 201 (Wind/Water) is just down the hallway from Studio 206 in the Caribou building, second floor at 3550 Airport Way. Entry is on the north side of the building across Gerahty street from Home Grown Market.

    My name is Sarah Hartman, and I am interested in fulfilling my required P.E. classes for high school with yoga. I have taken a few beginner classes at Heart Streams and my Mom (Heather Hartman) knows Marsha. Starting this fall I am planning on buying a punch card and taking a class two or three times a week. To get credit for high school, I would need to make up a sort of “syllabus,” just a simple outline on what skills I am being taught and how progress is measured as well as the teachers credentials. Based on this and my beginner level, what classes would you recommend I attend? Would you be willing to work with me in creating a syllabus?

    I’ve been doing beginners yoga and I’ve noticed that my Fred Meyer yoga mat isn’t the best. I slide on it. What brand would you guys recommend? I believe it was Jade mats that you sell in the shop? Also, what is the thickest size and price?

      Yup, we carry Jade for several reasons: they don’t slip, they are responsibly made, and we like them! Jade Harmony is the thickest at $68.

    I was able to get a babysitter this morning only to check the schedule today and see there is no class. It was very disappointing.

      Yes they are! When we put all the classes into our MB program 2 years ago they would only let us set them up for two years. They are disappearing in MindBody as the end dates take place and we are scrambling as we have time to reinstall them. The classes are still in progress.

      I would suggest trying one of the beginning or gentle classes to get started. These classes will give you a foundation to jump into the faster paced classes. Look at the class schedule to see what works for you. We have mats to borrow, straps, blankets. blocks, bolsters, etc. Wear comfortable clothes that will allow you to move freely. Call 474-8108 if you have specific questions.
