Mary Black, NETA, CGFI Fitness instructor and Minnesota native Mary Black and her husband Mark "landed" in Fairbanks in the fall of 2015 after working a summer in Denali. They had planned on returning to Florida after a summer of adventure but a friend convinced them to stay. When Mark got hired at Fort Knox, they decided to make Alaska home for them and their "kids": an Australian Shepherd, Takum (he was so cute as a puppy they had to take 'em home) and a cat who thinks he's a dog, Buster. Ironically Mary and Mark are retired competitive sled dog racers and are now living in the Sled dog Mecca of Two Rivers! After "retirement" from sled dogs in 2011, they purchased the gym in their small northern MN town, ran it for two years but decided it was time to thaw out and moved to Florida for a year and a half before coming to Alaska. Mark and Mary are the writers behind Aging Youthful, a lifestyle blog where they inspire others to not let their age define them and help them to live their lives to the fullest DESPITE their age! Mary is also studying to get her Wellness Coach certification. Mary writes her classes to maximize the workout in the minimal amount of time. Her classes will fire up your metabolism and continue to burn calories long after the class is over. Be prepared to have fun, laugh and cheer on yourself and classmates! "Fitness needs to be perceived as fun and games or we subconsciously avoid it." - Alan Thicke
